Today, we are going to meet with blogger Gaurav Kumar of eAskme.com. He has been blogging since 2013. His blog is about technology, business, motivation, dedication and how to live a better life. Let’s get some blogging tips from Gaurav and know more about him..

1. Please tell our readers about yourself and your blog?

Hello everyone. I am Gaurav Kumar, an internet entrepreneur, and blogger by passion. I am a full-time professional blogger from India. I have started blogging in 2013, and since then I have never looked back again.

People call me passionate blogger and most of them know me as Founder of eAskme.com. I founded eAskme in 2014. It is a tech blog which not only talks about technology but also about, business, motivation, dedication and how to live a better life.

2. Walk me through the step-by-step process that you went through to get to where you are today. What was the first thing you did? Next?

I must say that I never followed the traditional step by step approach. I have created my steps to make my way into the blogging world.

At the beginning of my blogging journey, I learned how to start a blog using the domain name, hosting and professional theme. I have created essential pages and started writing about the topics that I loved.

The very first thing was research. I researched even for the domain name before making the final purchase. I purchased eAskme.com, and within one month it ranked below 1,000,000 in Alexa.

I always followed the one rule, and that is research. Research is the reason why my blog attracts so many clients.

I love to learn new things and tricks to make things easier and the same I offered to my readers on my blog eAskme.com.

3. What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog?

Traffic is the need of every online business. Without traffic, one cannot think of conversion or revenue. I follow the rules of social sharing and organic traffic.

During my early blogging days, I depended upon social sharing. 90% of my traffic was coming from Facebook, Google Plus, and Twitter.

I have tried few things and started promoting my content on all the social platforms.

To my surprise, one of my blog posts got featured on digg.com, and it attracted 100,000 page views in just one day. But, these days it is not that easy to work with Digg.

Social sharing is still the significant part of my online traffic, but at the same time, my posts are attracting organic traffic as well. I am getting most of the organic traffic from Google, Yahoo, Bing, duckduckgo, etc.

From my experience, I must say that writing content is not enough if you cannot market it well. So it is necessary to market the content to attract more traffic.

4. Please tell us some of your strengths that really helped you in blogging?

You know why most bloggers fail because they do not care about passion. We all work for money, but in the blogging business, your love for money can ruin your business.

There is no doubt that I make 50k+ every month. But it doesn’t mean that I always made that much money. There was a time when I was not even making the 2% of that income. But, I never quit blogging.

The second thing is that I never cared about things that don’t make the blogger sleep peacefully. For example, I have never bothered about Alexa ranking.

I have already written how you can make money without caring about Alexa ranking.

I also never cared about what others say about me as long as it is not productive.

The person who is wholly focused on what he wants to achieve should not worry about anything. His focus should always be on learning, improving and evolving.

5. How active are you on a weekly basis? How often do you communicate with your followers?

I am very active. I reply to all the questions and messages on Facebook, Linkedin and even through emails. I also respond to all the comments on eAskme.com.

If you ever have any question, then you can contact me on any social network or through my blog. I will be happy to answer all the questions.

6. What do you think is the best service a blogger can provide to his readers?

You can only provide the best service when you know that you are offering the same thing, your readers are interested in.

It is necessary that first to understand your readers. Understand their needs, why they are coming to your blog? Then, create the content that is useful and easy to share.

I believe in writing pillar articles and creating infographics.

The best service as a blogger is to create the content that helps your readers and make them visit your blog again and again.

7. What was your greatest failure in blogging and what did you learn from that?

In 2013, I started a new blog. The blogs earning was depended upon Adsense. One day when Adsense hit that news blog. It ruined all my work, and I had no choice to let that blog die.

This incident has made me find the best ways to monetize the blog except for Adsense. At this time Bing has helped me to rise again. But last year I have completely removed contextual ads.

I believe that a blogger should not stick with one monetization method.

You should not only write the best articles but also focus on the best ways to monetize the blog such as affiliate marketing.

8. Can you name some of your favorite bloggers and explain why they are your favorites?

People find it strange when I tell them the name of my motivator. She is Courtney Rosen, founder of eHow. Most of the people I met know eHow, but they do not know about Courtney Rosen. Her blogging journey has inspired me so much that I decided to start blogging.

I also count Jeremy Schoemaker, Ariana Huffington, Perez Hilton and few more as my all-time favorite bloggers. From Jeremy I have learned how to use Adsense, Ariana has inspired me to write more content, and Perez has motivated me to become famous.

9. How much time do you spend blogging?

There is no fixed time. Sometimes I work between 2-12 hours and sometimes I spend days without working. But, it doesn’t mean that I ignore my blog. I always keep an eye on its performance and create structured posts to boost it.
